Looking ahead, CARMABI shows no signs of resting on its laurels. The planned improvements at Shete Boka National Park represent just one of several initiatives aimed at expanding and enhancing the foundation’s offerings while maintaining its scientific integrity. CARMABI’s Director Manfred van Veghel has outlined a vision for the organization to develop further as a regional hub where curiosity, innovation, and impact come together, with plans including expanded laboratory facilities and strengthened collaborations with local and international partners.

Their work, often conducted in partnership with organizations like SECORE (SExual COral REproduction), focuses on urgent conservation issues, such as coral reef restoration and identifying new marine species.
